Investor KITAS allows foreign investors to live and work in Indonesia while managing their investments. This special residence permit is designed for those who hold shares in a PT PMA (Foreign Investment Company) and take on key roles as Directors or Commissioners. Investor KITAS 101

Investor KITAS (E28A) is a residence permit granted to foreign nationals who wish to invest in a company registered as a PT PMA (Foreign Investment Company) in Indonesia. This program allows foreign investors to own shares in an Indonesian company and apply for specific job positions within the company.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Minimum Shareholding Requirement: Investors must own shares worth at least IDR 10 billion in a company registered as a PT PMA to apply for an Investor KITAS for the position of Director or Commissioner.
  • KITAS Duration: The Investor KITAS is granted for a period of two years, with the possibility of two extensions. After that, the KITAS can be converted into a KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit Card).
  • Permitted Activities: Directors and Commissioners holding an Investor KITAS are only allowed to engage in activities related to their positions, in accordance with Indonesian Company Law.

Company Documents:

  • Deed of Establishment and/or Deed of Amendment of the company.
  • Ministry of Law and Human Rights Decree and/or Company Amendment Letter.
  • Online visa account.
  • OSS (Online Single Submission) and the company’s Tax Identification Number (NPWP).
  • Company Bank Statement showing a minimum balance of IDR 150 million for the past three months.

Personal Documents:

  • Passport with a minimum validity of 30 months.
  • Personal Bank Statement showing a minimum balance of USD 2,000 for the past three months.
  • Proof of address in Indonesia.
  • Recent colored photograph.
  • CV (Curriculum Vitae).
  • Travel itinerary (if available).

Important Notes:

Investors using an Investor KITAS can only perform activities within the company that align with their roles as Directors or Commissioners, as regulated by Indonesian law.

Terje is from Norway and has been living in Indonesia for over 20-years. He first came to Indonesia as a child and after earning his degree in Business Administration from the University of Agder in Norway, he moved to Indonesia in 1993, where he has worked in leading positions in education and the fitness/ wellness industries all over Indonesia including Jakarta, Banjarmasin, Medan and Bali.

He was Co-owner and CEO of the Paradise Property Group for 10-years and led the company to great success. He is now Co-owner/ Founder and Director of Seven Stones Indonesia offering market entry services for foreign investors, legal advice, sourcing of investments and in particular real estate investments. He has a soft spot for eco-friendly and socially sustainable projects and investments, while his personal business strengths are in property law, tourism trends, macroeconomics, Indonesian government and regulations. His personal interests are in sport, adventure, history and spiritual experiences.
